I just finished this little thingy.....this is the first Testlab Outbreak of 2007 and the official beginning of this project. I have been looking very much forward to this moment...! I can tell you all that you will be in for a treat these following months....I plan on being able to present at least one Testlab Outbreak every month, maybe more....!
So what is this Testlab Outbreak thing...? I posted about it awhile ago but to sum it up this is my way of being more innovative and explore different new designs, textures, tecnics etc..
I have a ton of ideas that I need to start exploring and to do so when my main production is customorders is to take out a few days a month and concentrate on making excactly what I want...try out new things and see what happens. The resulting knives will be VERY limited in numbers and should be very collectable. I will be making a max of 3-5 of each of these in the test phase. I can imagine most will be one of a kinds even...Some might later evolve into standard models but the prototypes will vary from these a great deal. I have several new models allready designed waiting to get made and I even have some made ready for heattreat as of now. The next showing should be early February if not sooner...I have a few aces up my sleeve that might come in handy...
ok back to this Outbreak.....so what do we have here?
This is by far the smallest folder I have ever made...!!
The blade is only 1 1/2" long and overall is only 4 1/4" ..still it provides an excellent grip. Steel is RWL-34 at 60 Rc as usual. Titanium framelock in .100" thickness with solid olive green G10 oposit side and backspacer. The clip is also made from G10.
This one is not available but I will accept 5 orders for these before this project is closed down. After that I will evaluate and then maybe redesign it if I decide it should be the basis of a new model.
Let this be an easy start for the new year...I can assure you that the next Outbreak wont be as gentle as this little bug... Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Yeah baby...it is 2007 and I have a strong feeling this will be a great year..!
Right about now I can celebrate my 5th aniversary as a full time maker, my 10th aniversary for selling my knives...that alone is quite cool....thanks to all you guys out there who makes this possible...!
So....what can you expect to see from the Anso shop...???
Well one of the major things is the "official" launch of the Testlab Outbreaks.....those of you who follow this forum would have noticed a thread a while ago with a sneak peak to the Outbreak idea....Over the holidays I have been designing a bunch of new folders.....some radical some more gentle...but all freaking cool if I may say so my self.....most of these which counts as high as 10 new folder and balisong designs will be launched during 2007. Most if not all will start their life as a Testlab Outbreak and then MAYBE with some changes be allowed into the group of standard models....I will be grinding on the first this week and will have a bunch done and ready for heattreat over the next month......if all goes as planned I will have the first ready to show of early February...stay tuned...!
Some of the the other stuff you will see from my shop is a few swords....I have moved alittle away from the Elvish inspiration in my first swords into the nordic and roman style....I expect to build at least different swords during 2007...at least one of which will be available at the Bladeshow...!!
Which reminds me that this year I will attend more shows than ever.....I will first attend the Bladeshow 2007, then the Scandinavian Knifemakers Guildshow in Stockholm and finally the Paris show in September....I love preparing for shows and for those of you that will be able to see me at either of the shows prepare for a threat :)
I have several other ideas brewing that will all come to life in 2007.....different ways of transporting/storing your favorite Anso Knife.....I will have new ways to mark my knives which will include my logo and the shop will expand both regarding machines/tools and size....!
I probably left out a few things I meant to write here but when I figure it out I wil add to this post! :)
last but not least I wish you all a happy and prosperous new year...!
See ya :)
